Pilgrim's Progress

For our Basic Christianity class, we will be reading the book, Pilgrim's Progress, by John Bunyan. Bunyan lived in England in the 17th century and was put in prison for preaching without a license. He wrote Pilgrim's Progress in prison. This book has never gone out of print. It is the most translated book in English after the King James Bible. The story takes place in a dream. The English is from England. :) Below are a few links to Pilgrim's progress. John Rudder Requiem

Today, September 27, is my father's birthday. He would have been 76 years old today, but he died suddenly 24 years ago. I was traveling abroad when it happened, and it was a very difficult time for me and my family. Trust in God and time are what have helped me go on. Today, I remember him and dedicate this blog post to my students... One of the most beautiful pieces I ever sang in choir was the Requiem by John Rudder. Rudder is an Englishman, and he has written the only Protestant Requiem that I know of. As I understand it, a requiem is a composition that was performed at the death or memorial service of an important person, like a king or queen. I invite you to listen to this deeply spiritual and beautiful music. It can bring you comfort, as it has for me. Here are the parts of the piece: 1. Requiem æternam 2. Out of the Deep 3. Pie Jesu 4. Agnus Dei 5. The Lord is My Shepherd 6. Lux æterna
